On the 11th of June, accompanied by Mrs. Sekon and Mrs. Adler, class 8c prepared a City Challenge. This City Challenge was that the class would travel throughout Berlin and visit different famous tourist attractions. Groups of two people each out of the class were required to create an activity that fitted the specific monument they were given to research.

Before asking the other groups to perform that activity, each group were asked to prepare a short speech that would give the rest of the class of 22 students information about the monument.

After a lot of hard work and contributions by students, parents, and staff – the NMS Yearbook is scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday June 12!

Dear NMS community, co-students, families, friends and teachers of the graduating class of 2019. We, the members of the graduating class (Abi Q4 and IB 13 students) need your support and help! We would like to remind you of our invitation to our graduation ball on June 14th, 2019 (from 7:00 pm) in the Columbia Halle. Many tickets have been sold already. 
But we need to sell 47 more tickets to avoid a problem in the financing of the ball and to meet our threshold of 450 participants. The ticket price is 68,00€ and includes dinner and beverages, DJ and live acts! Nelson Mandela School will be having its second career day on June 6th! Students will be able to attend a variety of career presentations and talks by parents and friends. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to get a sneak peek into different career paths.

Secondary Art, Geography + Biology teachers and students join forces for a cross-departmental initiative + workshop to make P30 into a “green oasis”. Planning began in March 2019 and will continue in the summer and into the new school year!

On May, 27 2019, An Inter-school art exhibition will take place. It is a joint art exhibition with International Schools (Nelson Mandela, John F. Kenndy, and Cosmopolitan).

Each school will submit 10 artworks, (with the theme Diversity) and will take place in Babelsbergerstraße 24, 10715 on the 2nd floor. 

The Nelson Mandela School Choir was invited to the South African Freedom Day Celebration on April 26, 2019.

 This event took place at the South African Embassy. Over fifteen students represented the choir during the Easter Holidays. The choir sang the South African National Anthem and the German National Anthem. They were well received.

The audition started to sing with them. A good time was had by all. The choir sang two addition songs. They, too, were well received.

ACTIVITY SPACES WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THE FOYER featuring Natural and Social Sciences, Languages, the Arts and Student Presentations. 

Am Dienstag, 21.05.2019 ist Ubuntu-Tag an der Nelson Mandela Schule. An diesem Tag werden in der gesamten Schule Aktivitäten stattfinden und die Diversität unserer Gemeinschaft gefeiert. An der Grundschule der P23 wird von 14:00 bis 17:00 Uhr ein Ubuntu-Festival stattfinden, zu dem wir Sie herzlich einladen.

Ab 14:00 Uhr findet kein regulärer Unterricht statt. Jede Klasse macht ein Angebot an dem alle Kinder teilnehmen können. Dies ist eine tolle Gelegenheit in der Schule zusammen zu kommen, sich auszutauschen und die Vielfältigkeit unserer Gemeinschaft zu feiern.

Für das leibliche Wohl wird gesorgt sein. Im Sinne der Nachhaltigkeit bitten wir alle ihr eigenes Besteck,Teller und Tasse mitzubringen. Die Aktivitäten und Speisen werden für 0,50 € angeboten und entsprechende Gutscheine können im Eingangsbereich erworben werden, um Bargeld zu minimieren. Die Kinder der Klassen 1 – 4 werden vorab je einen Gutschein erhalten.
