The Visual Journal as a project documentation tool in art classes
In the Visual Journal, students document the content of art lessons and their resulting individual artistic concepts by exploring the underlying subject areas, testing techniques and experiencing strategies, documenting their own work process and evaluating the results. In a combination of visualization and text, the students independently describe, reflect and evaluate their practical work and are thus systematically introduced to the fundamentals of aesthetic research.
In addition, the individual design of the content (layout) in their own Visual Journal plays a major role. With the Visual Journal, language education and media education are optimally integrated into art lessons in the sense of the State Curricula for Visual Arts.
