The NMS Yearbook team 2018/19 warmly thanks the entire NMS community – students, staff, and parents – for your contribution to the yearbook – for coordinating your class page + consent forms, taking photos, collecting photos, and submitting texts and images on class/school events, for sending out tons of emails, doing the graphic design for your class page, and working with the Yearbook team whenever we had questions. We again had great contributions to the cover competition and thoughtful essays on internships, reports on sports, and other co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. We also had two great student team members, who took photos, provided valuable insight on the school, and gave feedback along the production process.

Without you this yearbook would not have come together!

Though we can’t thank everyone by name, we would like to note a few special thanks here:

Many thanks to Ms. Florentine Baumann for supplying us with ample material for different sections of the yearbook, getting students to contribute texts+photos, for info on school events, and for initiating the 11th grade cover competition handled by Ms. Hilkka Alaviuhkola and her art class. Many thanks to Ms. Sarah Dent, who gathered inspirational quotes from students and colleagues for the yearbook.

Special thanks also to Ms. Katja Sajid, who facilitated communication between the team and staff, contributed helpful information, and even rescheduled school photos so we could use some of them in the yearbook.

Many thanks to the seniors and staff who completed the survey and sent in a photo. The senior and staff surveys were new formats this year, to highlight these special segments of the NMS community.

We warmly thank Mr. Gerald Miebs and Ms. Ina Claussen for their continued support of this community project and for reflecting on this school year with texts in the yearbook.

We hope you enjoy seeing your contribution as well as the rest of the book when it comes out. It goes without saying that we welcome your feedback – as a volunteer project by the NMS community for the NMS community, this is a work in progress!

We undertook a vigorous process of seeking permission for the publication of names and images in the yearbook. The permission process can certainly be improved upon – all suggestions for improvement are welcome! We have done our best to ensure that these wishes of privacy were respected. Where such privacy has been breached, despite our best effort, we apologize and hope that we have not caused any harm. It goes without saying that our intention has always been in the best interest of the community, and, given the conditions, to make the best yearbook possible.
