For my demonstration of my CAS experiences, my CAS Project consisted of myself, Jed Maegraith, teaching a self derived fitness course that helped me lose 35+ kg at home during the stay-at-home lockdown period in Berlin Earlier this year. For several years, I wasn't the most enthusiastic student in sport class, I did enjoy it but didn't do it so much. I really wanted to change something in my fitness life, so during the quarantine period of late march up until the school holidays this year, through a combination of intermittent fasting, low carb and protein shakes or regular fitness, I was able to lose nearly 37 kg.
I had created a 40 minute fitness course that was targeted at high intensity burst workout methods, and targeted specific sectors of your body. I wanted to share this with some friends and to hope them be able to grasp the full potential that fitness can have on the body and how it can affect yourself, mentally and physically and the people around you.
Myself and four other friends met every friday starting on the fifth of June, so I could go through my fitness programme with them, and It was a lot of fun. The course consisted of first stretches, then triceps and biceps, chest and abdominal workouts. Then it finished with some leg training and then cardio.
This was a picture for our initial meet, at 14:00 on the 5th of June. Conducting a CAS project also in many aspects trains your logistical and organisational skills, as it requires lots of patience and focus. It was difficult to find a time because many of us had lots of requirements. During this first week especially, lots of IA’s were due. But we managed in the end. See the full project here.
My hope was to have given the friends that came, a new insight into fitness and the importance of having fitness in your everyday life, and I was hoping to get them to understand how easy it is to find that potential even when you do not think you are doing it, like carrying groceries from the shop or playing sports recreationally.
The top picture is from our final meet on the 3rd of July, we were all pretty relieved once we had finished and were looking forward to applying the skills we have acquired.
